Sports and Prayers

Hello All-

Well, once again we are busy busy busy. A couple of weekends ago, Keegan's softball team played in a 10u tourney and did great! They finished 2nd, which was great because the team we were playing against I think were actually almost 2 years older than us. Church softball has finally started and we are already doing better than last season with 2 wins and 1 loss. Haha, yes last year we did have a sad record. I love being out there with our team, we are all about the same age and really mesh well. I enjoy getting to spend time with other Christian ladies, playing softball and talking about our's always a great stress reliever! Garrett is still playing baseball but it seems the weather slowed us down and we haven't picked back up as strong as we were doing. Garrett seems to love it, but that also depends on what day of the week it is. Brady has decided since he isn't playing softball that he is going to take up golf so we talk about golf, watch golf, he plays golf, we buy golf items, golf golf golf. I should be used to it because my dad is the same way, but I think that's why I dread it. That isn't meant to be ugly, but you all know that saying, " You marry your Dad." Well I definitely did at times...and this golf dad completely. I will say that Brady has made me feel good when he tells me to start playing with him. I would love to but if we both go then we would have to get a sitter and what not, so I think for now I'll stick with softball but maybe one day I will join the hubs on the front 9.

We have had a lot of health scares with different members of our families lately. Mainly with the older generations, but I wanted to take this time to share a little so you all who read this can keep us in your prayers.
Brady's grandparents have struggled a lot with their health over the past couple of years. Mr.McGinty is needing another back surgery because the major one he had a little over a year ago has not been successful like the doctors had hoped for. Mrs.McGinty struggles with stomach and heart problems and it seems the two issues flair up the most when Mr.McGinty isn't doing well. They are both sweet and hard working people, who both would do anything in this world for their family. Please pray for their health, strength-both physically and emotionally, and patience.
My grandma, aka DoeDoe, had 'female' surgery about 3 weeks ago now and overall is doing great but has had some days that aren't comfortable for her. But I think the biggest issue is that she hates to have to sit or stay inside or feel helpless and this surgery, combined with the weather, has made her feel bound to her recliner. Grandma is just too active for that so I just pray that she will be patient with her recovery, continue to stay healthy and on the days she can get outside to not to over do it. Papaw, just turned 80 in March, and he is a ROCK. That man is healthy and strong and I just would like prayers to keep him that way :)
Last but not least, my other grandma- Grandma June, my dad's mom, has been fighting COPD for years now. She is getting weaker by the weeks/months and we are all aware now that any battle with pneumonia may be her last battle. We were told last week that she has some type of fungus in her lungs (hopefully I'm repeating this information correctly) and having already extremely weak lungs, this is very scary. I get sad & scared when I think about her being that weak and the thought of her dying. I have been very fortunate to have had very healthy grandparents since about age 3, so as far as my childhood or adult life I haven't had to deal with the pain of losing a family member so close. However, the older I get I know it's inevitable. Grandma June has always lived 4 hours away and with our busy lives we don't always get to see her and visit like we should. I am trying to figure out when I can get up there before it is too late. Morbid I know but a huge fear. Please pray for her as well!

Thanks for those who read this for praying for everyone. No pictures this post, just words and thoughts.

Have a great week.

So since we have been slammed with so much bad weather and rain, Garrett has not gotten to play much baseball, my first softball game was RO, and Keegan's team just played through it... imagine that. Two weekends ago we played in Benton and needless to say the weather was awful. This past weekend Garrett finally got to play baseball Friday night, so we had 2 baseball games and 1 softball game Friday night- in Benton and East End, and then the girls had 3 more games Saturday in East End. However, all the games were very spaced out so we had a LONG day at the ballpark. The championship game started at 10:30 and was an awesome game. It finally ended with 3 extra innings and a total time of about 2 hours. Thankfully we won, because if we would have lost we would have had to of played another game starting at 12:30 am. The girls on Dirt Devils '02 were exhausted. ACTUALLY- The parents were too. I haven't uploaded any photos from any of our recent ball so I am going to post some from the previous weekend and Easter.

Easter was fun. We gathered at noon for a great lunch cooked by Grandma. Canyon, Mali, and Easton hunted for eggs and played outside, while most of the adults layed around with stuffed bellies. I wish Keegan and Garrett were with us but they were at their mom's. Allison did send us a picture via text and of course they looked great in their Easter outfits. And then after we got the kiddos back we got to close the day with a great dinner at Donna's!

Easton has learned to 'wink' and this is him trying do so. HAHA so cute.
Pops getting some love.

And this is Easton showing us how he whistles. He taught himself this little trick.

Well other than ball and ball and ball and oh yeah, more ball, our family really hasn't been up to much. We had a great day yesterday for Mother's day. We started the day we brunch at Ed and Kay's with Brady's family and ended the day at my mom's eating hamburgers and 4 different desserts. We are so lucky and blessed to have such a great family all around and that we all live local and can see everyone for pretty much every holiday. Between the two meals Brady and Easton stayed at home and let me go get a pedicure and manicure..much needed. I just wish I could have sat in that chair longer and gotten a better back massage haha. Anyway, we are off to another busy week... FBC Women's church softball starts tonight, we have practices all week with the kids, Mali's dance recital and a softball game Friday and a tournament this weekend. I need, no, we need a vacation!
I'm going to close this post with a precious picture of Easton. He has really gotten attached to two things lately, his blankie and his paci, however, he is in love with any type of ball too. So this look is very typical right now, and of course, I love it.

 Have a great week...

dreaming of better weather...

Ok so I told you guys I wouldn't be great at blogging. So much has happened in the past few weeks I do not know where to even start. April is full of birthdays. Mine is the 8th, Keegan and Brady share the 16th, my nephew holds the 17th, my niece takes the 22nd, my grandmother blessed this earth on the 25th, a sweet cousin entered on the 26th, and my lovely sister gets to claim the 27th. Whew, I'm tired just from typing all of that, not to mention going and buying presents. Not only do all the birthdays tire us, but now throw in baseball games, softball tournaments, Benchmarks, practices, guitar lessons, cook outs, and Easter; we are pooped! I think this year's April showers, will bring a hopeful May slow down...but probably not. So I haven't been able to do much photography but I did spend my birthday weekend at the ball fields (where else??) and somehow conned friends into watching Easton so I could take pictures of Keegan and Garrett during their games. I also took pictures of Keegan's pool/sleepover party (14 girls came, 11 stayed the night, and I think 0 fights- God was with us on that one ;)) Of course I will snap a few during Easter and next weekend I get to photograph my cousin's sweet twins' 1st birthday party (oh yeah, I forgot that BIRTHDAY celebration)

Here are a few shots from basball and softball so far this year..
Thankfully Canyon and Garrett get to be on the same team again this year and my Dad and Brady are coaching the Minors, but both boys get to play Majors as well.

Our #1 fans for many many years still come out to cheer on the boys.

Canyon snagging a ball.

The Dirt Devils are doing great this year! Undefeated and rollin'

And the biggest two devils of the day were these two boys

And here are a few from Keegan's Birthday party. Bless her heart, due to softball conflicts she hasn't had a party in 2 years, so this year we made sure it happened!

And last but not least, Easton got his first official haircut on my birthday. His hair basically consist of a rat tail and sprigs of Alf-Alfaish hair on top...but it needed a trim in a bad way. I was having to tuck the rat tail down and Brady said that was "enough!"

Hopefully I will be able to blog more and do better at keeping those, who care, up to date.
Stay dry, this weather sucks     the energy right out of me!

From time to time I enjoy doing some photography. Recently I have had the privilege of capturing some special moments with family and friends and thought I would share a few.... I have great prices and would love to photograph you and your family! I will go anywhere in Central Arkansas and prefer outside shots, but can do indoor sessions. I also love doing birthday parties so the parent can actually enjoy the party and not be stuck behind the camera. Please email @ or Facebook me if you are interested and we will see what we can work out!
-unlimited photo session time
-unlimited # of locations and outfits
-unlimited # of pictures
-all photos edited- when needed, and all put on a CD, that you can have copies printed from as you wish.

Marshall/Johnson Family

So there are some of my photos. Not all of them but a good start to sharing what I can do. Let me know if I can capture some of your favorite moments too.
